1. fire fighting countermeasures

2. basic countermeasures for extinguishing compressed or liquefied gas fires

compressed or liquefied gas is always stored in different containers or transported through pipelines. The gas stored in a smaller cylinder has a high pressure, and it is easy to burst when heated or smoked by flame. In case of compressed or liquefied gas fire, the following basic countermeasures should be taken generally

(1) to put out gas fires, do not put out the fire blindly, and keep stable combustion without taking leakage stoppage measures. Otherwise, a large amount of combustible gas will leak out and mix with the air, and the explosion will occur when encountering the fire source, and the consequences will be unimaginable

(2) first of all, put out the combustible fire ignited by the fire source in the periphery, cut off the spread path of the fire, control the combustion range, and actively rescue the injured and trapped personnel

(3) if there are pressure vessels in the fire or pressure vessels threatened by flame radiant heat, those who can evacuate should be evacuated to a safe area under the cover of water guns as far as possible, and those who cannot evacuate should be deployed with enough water guns for cooling protection. In order to prevent the explosion of the container from injuring people, the cooling personnel should try to use low posture water shooting or use a solid shelter on site for protection. For horizontal storage tanks, the cooling personnel should choose the four side corners of the tank as the water shooting position

(4) if the gas transmission pipeline leaks and catches fire, try to find the air source valve. When the valve is in good condition, the fire will be extinguished automatically as long as the inlet and outlet valves of the gas are closed

(5) when the closing valve of storage tank or pipeline leakage is invalid, it should be judged according to the fire that the fine spherical aluminum powder at the high end of the gas pressure benefits from the encouragement and promotion of the policy and the size and shape of the leakage port, and the corresponding plugging materials (such as cork, rubber plug, airbag plug, adhesive, elbow tools, etc.) should be prepared

(6) after the leakage stoppage work is ready, you can use water to put out the fire, and also use dry powder, carbon dioxide, halogenated alkanes to put out the fire, but you still need water to cool the scalded tank or pipe wall. After the fire is extinguished, the leakage shall be stopped immediately with plugging materials, and the leaked gas shall be diluted and dispersed with foggy water at the same time. If it is confirmed that the leakage port is very large and cannot be stopped at all, it is only necessary to cool the fire container and its surrounding containers and combustible materials, and control the fire range until the fuel gas is burnt out and the fire is automatically extinguished

(7) the on-site commander should pay close attention to all kinds of dangerous signs. In case of explosion signs such as the flame of the container safety valve that fails to recover stable combustion or heated radiation for a long time after the fire is extinguished, the commander must make an accurate judgment in a timely manner and issue a withdrawal order in a timely manner.
